I don't know why I'm surprised....

by my eagerness and excitement about playing again.... hell,, been at this since 1964... it's my LIFE.

I think the reason is that I've come to grips with the "Fact" than I can't play the way I used to play and that THAT'S OK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Playing this last week did expose a pretty debilitating problem... left leg, from where they took the bone for my jaw, starts giving me some trouble after just a short time. Electronic kit to the rescue! On Kit #2 I programmed the high hat pedal to always play 'closed'... whether my foot is up or down it will fire as closed. Once my leg has rested for a short time I can switch back to Kit #1.

I am worried about my stamina... as I've mentioned I'm suffering some pretty bad fatigue from the Immunotherapy BUT.... I'm thinking, call me foolishly optimistic, the "HIGH" of just playing again will get me thru it.

Oh, and Vocals.... been singing along to music for a couple of weeks now... I think I can do it! Yes, it's true that after a short time my dead lip causes some mispronunciations but who gives a flying rat's ass? .

Yeah, Steve.. I appreciate the support! Not sure where this is headed... you're right, no doubt we will be playing again occasionally but we will NOT be playing regularly. LOT of friends exited about us playing again. . I'm curious how this 'new generation' is going to accept our quite dated playlist. Will they know our tunes? I don't know... but frankly, I don't really care either.
