No, never seen a Dogman. Never even heard of a Dogman. 
I have, however, had many very special experiences on the trail. My favorite was meeting "Barbara". This took place around the year 1994. I had stopped for a snack at Lake Virginia in the High Sierra's here in Ca. I saw in the distance a figure approaching, moving very slowly. As the figure grew closer I could see that it was a woman, an elderly woman.
Ok... said I'd keep this short. I wrote a longer story about this. The hiker was Barbara and she was in her 80's. Now Lake Virginia requires a very strenuous hike.... I would have thought far too strenuous for anyone in their 80's. She stopped, said "Hi", and we began... geez, I forgot how long we chatted... I was so mesmerized by her story that I lost track of time. I'll guess 4 hours?
Her and her husband had first hiked into the High Sierra's in the 20's. Every summer after that they hiked into the High Sierra's. They never missed a single year. At our encounter her husband had been dead for 10 years.... but Barbara kept up the "tradition"... never missing a year.
"The strenuous hike" - - Barbara told me she certainly couldn't move as quickly as she could in her youth BUT.... even in her youth she and her husband were never in a hurry. At the time I met with her she told me she might only make a few miles a day.
So I sat on a rock at the edge of Lake Virginia and listened to her 70+ year history of hiking the High Sierra's. I have never been as enthralled by a story as I was listening to Barbara. It almost became surreal... like I was listening to a "ghost', or an "angel", come back specifically to speak with me.
So ok'... that's definitely one of those "you had to be there" stories... sorry about that.... but I think you can at least get somewhat of the feeling of what that was like for me.
I hiked that section of trail many times after my meeting with Barbara..... and yes, I looked for her every time I was on the trail. I never saw her again. And also yes, I think she's still up there, hiking along with her husband. - JamesJM
