what the flap does, exactly, only that's it's needed to cover the posts, (already put in), in preparation for the teeth. I'm having 3 teeth implanted. I was lucky in catching it as early as I did... although not early enough - I had reached Stage 4 cancer.... in that they had to remove a somewhat small section of jawbone - Not the joint!
Funny, or not so funny actually, they told me everything to expect before the surgery. LONG ass recovery, loss of feeling, annoyance at the size of the flap, etc. But - I didn't pay much attention. It HAD to done, or die, so I kind of put it out of mind. Well... I'm paying attention now.

. ONE thing they told to expect that I didn't suffer was the side effects from the radiation I was supposed to have after the Chemo, Immuno, and Surgery. The surgery was so successful no radiation was needed.
