That you are well on the way to recovery.. Hopefully the numbness wears off - that is one helluva nerve going through your jaw area.. I had debated jaw surgery myself, but chickened out after reading up on the potential nerve numbness of that one humongous nerve.. I think with that bad boy it can take up to a year to get full feeling back..
I had gotten Radio Frequency Thermo Coagulation done to my neck 20 years ago.. Basically they went in and FRIED the nerves in my neck, hoping to burn off the nerve endings that were causing me so much pain.. Done correctly, the area they fried felt like it was "asleep" - compared to the non-stop horrific pain I lived with 24/7.. Well, they successfully "fried" the are and the whole back of my neck and back of my head felt "asleep" - just dead numb for an entire year.. Amazingly, they either missed the offending nerves or the offending nerves shot them and me the bird because, pain-wise, BBQing my nerves did me no good whatsoever..
Point of the story: it took me about a year to get full feeling back - but you may not have been fried to the extent that I was.. Funny thing - many times I woke up at 3am CRAVING BBQ.... (kidding) but the Beagles would be there licking my neck incessantly..
(also kidding)
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
