Small commuter planes.... from Phoenix to Fresno. I also don't like it at all. But I'm not claustrophobic about it.
When I used to fly I had a running debate with myself. Rent a high wing or a low wing? I much preferred the flight characteristics of the low wing BUT... no doubt the view down from high wing is much better.
Came very close to buying a plane a few times. Had I done so I'm pretty sure I would have chosen low wing but of course availability and price would have made the decision for me. Always wanted a J3 Cub. Ever flown in one?
IMHO it's the l closest you can come to feeling like you're actually flying. Putt Putt and below cars are passing you up.
. AND NO Claustrophobia! You're damn near outside while flying.
