I LOVE Islay....

These days I doubt if I have more than two or three shots a year.... but when I do it's heaven.

I posted this before: My favorite EVER shot of Scotch Whiskey was in Edinburgh, Scotland up on the Royal Mile in the Castle. You could buy Scotch there. At this time... this was, ummm, 2015-16? I was very unfamiliar with Scotch.

My son disappeared for a while and when he came back I was looking over Edinburgh from the battlements. He handed me a glass, to my surprise, then pulled out a bottle of Talisker. It was a small bottle and we polished it off while overlooking Edinburgh. SOOOOOOOO.....

Was it the Talisker or the view that made it so great? I don't know, I don't care... all I know is that was the best shot of Scotch Whiskey I've ever had.

Back to Islay - it took a short time for me to get accustomed to the peat smoke aroma/taste of Islay but when I did... WOW! - JamesJM
