Parents are a big part of the problem IMO

Like you said, parents insist their child is the next Bobby Witt Jr. and pay gobs of money for their kid to play on travel leagues, not only to the detriment of their education, but many times the child isn’t completely on board or wants to try other sports.

There is some research that demonstrates the best athletes are those that play a variety of sports.

The theory is their bodies are able to train different muscles and ligaments so they become more resilient and well-rounded.
