Air Display Teams....

You know them well -

Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, etc etc. There are many around the world.

I LOVE watching these teams perform. I'll drive hours to see them. I do not have a "Favorite" team but in recent years the Thunderbirds have 'wow'd' me the most.

I have to confess I do have a favorite plane used by these teams - the Boeing F/A-18E/F Super Hornet used by the Blue Angels... but I am swayed by the 'colors'. The Blue Angels are extraordinarily beautiful.

I have not seen many of the teams from other countries, just a handful. I've seen the Snowbirds from Canada. While in Europe I saw one of the teams from France and one from Italy, (I forget their names). They are as amazing as the USA teams.

When I am watching them I am spellbound.... and disgusted in myself for not putting in the work and time to have been part of one of those teams.

On another topic we have discussed here... they are still using the skies directly over my home to train/dogfight. These are the fighters out of Lemoore Naval Air Stations... and possibly Fresno's California Air National Guard. They put on a show overhead that's nearly as good as the Air Display Teams. My windows rattle when they are overhead which is about once a week. I've stood outside many times and cheered them on but I don't think they've noticed me - - - but I keep hoping that one day they will and offer me a ride.
