way back closed up in the mid 70's? My best friend lived just over a hill from the valley the drive-in was. I'd stay over at his place on a Fri., we'd make camp on top of that hill, bring along binoculars and watch the shows, eat hotdogs etc......Sometimes they'd show the "Nudies" as their 11 PM shows......LOL......Along with all those regular type shows....monster galore stuff....
It was called Speedway for a reason....a straight run of road for better than 1/4 mile and all the rods would make runs on it. Nestled between Athen WV on a mountain and Pipestem at 1 time a big resort built in the early 70's...Hinton just down the road and their dam which did mini boat races in the summer before a cat got killed in the races, boat upended he was buckled in and his head went pop.
