on a record player that is. "Four Walls" by Jim Reeves. My Mom had purchased a record player. This was maybe 1957?
Note: I was already listening to the radio and that song was not something I was into. BUT.... I couldn't believe the high tech of an actual record player. I was fascinated by it. I was NOT allowed to use it so I had to be sneaky.... and "Four Walls" was the only 45 I could locate.
The song from that era I remember actually liking, a lot, was Bye Bye Love by the Everly brothers.... I think around the same time as Four Walls. I couldn't believe my Mom's poor choice in music.

The most amazing 'tech' I can remember owning was a reel to reel tape recorder. Very small.... I thought it was 'space age'. I was more impressed with that tape recorder than computers when they came out.
