during my recent hospital stays and while unconscious, (anesthesia), they put in a catheter. First time I ever had one... (will be the last too if I have anything to say about it).
While in I didn't even notice... and then, AND THEN, came the day to remove it. "OH", they told me, "You'll barely notice. Nothing to worry about". Those lying, evil, deserving of HELL demons.
In prep I did all I could... gritted my teeth, death locked my hands around the bed rails, chanted, tried to think of baseball...... all for naught. They said it would be lightening quick... which technically I suppose it was but it turned out to be one of those one second things that defy time and actually last about an hour.
Just maybe the most 'uncomfortable' thing, (the word torture is more apt), I've ever had done to me. In reflection I'm not sure I would have preferred no anesthesia for the surgery and then an overdose of it during the catheter removal. - JamesJM
