Was a Coyote and, of course, we used Wile E Coyote in all our branding for decades - through 5 Texas State Championships in football, which is a HUGE deal in Texas.. Then one stupid year they decided to change Wile E Coyote to more of a real coyote because Wile E Coyote signified defeat since he could never catch the Roadrunner..
Then, a few years ago you all should remember the HUGE battle I (and another guy) waged to keep the coyote mascot when they built new high schools, but they did away with the Coyotes, forever, and now nobody gives two sh*ts about high school football in this town anymore..
What did they finally settle on for a mascot?
