car Show in Myrtle Beach. This was their 37th showing. Had @ 3500 cars and was called as a sell out for #of cars allowed to show. What a display of colors, from rat rods to even some British made MG's, Triumphs. Weather was great, but that $#%^ing pollen was turning many cars into a transparent green. Had a beautiful Sunbeam Tiger with that 289 stuffed under the hood. Several 1962 Impala SS's (my 1st car) of course.
It was a 3 day event (Thur.-Sat.) We got there for the last 2 days. I walked for at least 10-12 hours in that time frame.....I was dickering with a guy who had a 1960 T-Bird for a bit, but left empty car handed. Was a solid car, with a lot of surface rust patina. Asking 8500 offered 5000. I put 15000-17000 in it and I'd have what it would be worth in it. Change out the brakes to disc, rework the suspension to an air ride massage the motor and a nice paint job....but he was steady on his price going to 7500 at low...too much.....
Wore my Byron Young jersey day 1 and by gosh I had 5 guys come up and fist pump, high five etc.....surprised me in that area and everyone else pretty much wearing their car shirts...LOL.....
Great Show and I would suggest it to anyone, even if not a motor head like me. That smell of full on octane rumbling past you is better than a fine cigar...LOL.....
