When Roman came onboard my thoughts were, "By God we've got a QB to compete with Brodie". THAT is how much I respected John Brodie. Someone needs to double check me here but I believe the Rams defeated the Niners both games in '66 and then again in '67. It was the beginning of what for me continues to this day... Rams are winners.
I was too young during the Waterfield days to remember those early 50's. I'll always envy Tony having those memories.
To me Brodie and Unitas were the epitome of 'elite' QB'ing. - JamesJM
