the original series from the 1950's
not what I was expecting
sure , I've seen a few clips ,and promo stuff over the years , but never actually watched an entire episode , or even close
over the past week , I got on a Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon beach movie kick
and one thing lead to another , and I got curious about Annette Funicello and the Mickey Mouse Club , so looked on Disney Plus , to see what they had
surprisingly , you can only stream the first 5 episodes of the first season , and thats it , even on Disney Plus
you can find short clips from different seasons on Youtube , but no full episodes
not sure what I was expecting , I guess I just assumed the show was all about the kids / mouseketeers with a few cartoons thrown in
but it's not , the kids are hardly in it at all
the episodes are like 45 minutes long , and the kids are in it barely 10 minutes , if even that much
I can only say about the first 5 episodes , some of the guest acts were pretty tough to watch , I kinda watched the first 5 episodes , but I actually fast forward through most of them
I will say , those kids did have some serious talent though
I don't know if the show changed over the seasons , I assumed it did , but those first 5 episodes were kinda tough to watch
I'm guessing those kids popularity had more to do with marketing and merchandising , then what they actually did on the show ,
I know Bobby went on to be on the Lawrence Welk show for years
but I didn't know Johnny Crawford was a mouseketeers , I had to google it to make sure , but I recognized him right off , he was let go after the first season , but then ended up on the Rifleman
maybe the show got better as it went along ................
