I'm sure you had TONS of them hanging out with you guys..

I'm just crazy nuts about doing a big show - at least as big as possible for a club act.. If I get another band together, I am pulling out ALL the stops on what will be an amazing, fantastic show.. I decided 3/4ths of the setlist will be originals I've already written, so I HAVE to do a MASSIVE show sync'd with the music.. the beauty is in only doing one longer set, I can do more effects and show elements because I don't hafta fill as much time.. I PROMISE it will be SPECTACULAR for a club act..
And I also promise, if you EVER do another show and I can get to it, I'll bring the effects and lights and stuff and do as big of a presentation as I can for ya..
..and to add to your story of opening for the national act that didn't allow you to use any of their lighting rig, I totally get it.. I opened for probably 20 national acts and NONE of them let us use the big lighting rigs - only the bare minimum so we weren't in total darkness.. Only two of those bands let us do a full-fledged sound check.. Most of them (Rough Cutt in particular) extended their sound checks until the doors opened, so basically no sound check at all..
I brought up Rough Cutt because their drummer sound checked his kit FOREVER.. Finally he was done.. Stage manager yelled out that we had about 15 minutes to sound check before the doors opened.. We were excited... UNTIL... the drummer, who had two toms BEHIND him so he could do a fill and rotate 360 degrees around his kit, yelled that he forgot to check the two toms behind him.. and he spends the next 15 minutes sound checking the two toms behind him, which should have taken 2 minutes tops.. and.. he only hit those two toms ONCE the entire night - dring his lengthy and totally BORING drum solo..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
