Thought you might find it interesting that since my post a few months ago about the dog dropped off at my house we've had two more dropped off. They came and picked up this last one just today. Only took 5 days this time... they know us well.
They are finally taking us seriously.. or at least somewhat seriously. As i said before it's not just my house but rather all the houses in my area. In a 2 mile stretch of road I have 6 neighbors.... all of us have had strays dropped off at our homes this year... I think all more than one! I've lost count... this is 4 at my house this year? And I don't have the record... a neighbor told me she's had 5 dropped off this year. This cannot just be 'coincidence'. Call me a conspiracy theorist BUT.... I really think 'word' is spreading that this is the place to drop your dog off.
Even the SPCA is considering my theory now. They said something about starting an investigation... I have no idea how they would do that.
This last one at my home was a full blood Pit Bull... solid 'gray', and pregnant. Yes, we were cautious, but since she took up residence AT my front door we had little choice. Turns out she was VERY friendly... to people. She wanted to kill Guido... hence the much quicker response from the SPCA this time. Still..... Guido has been locked inside my home and only able to use the backyard for the last 5 days.
Sooo... 4 this year. That's approx. 1 every 2 months. We'll have another by Christmas. - JamesJM
