I mean , when you think about it , UCLA only plays 5-6 games there a year anyways , so it still sits pretty empty most of the year
they still have the Rose Bowl game it self , which is really the only big game of the year , but even then , it's not the same
now it's just part of the college football playoff rotation , and it'll never host the actual Championship game , as the Championship game isn't until Jan 19th
and the Rose Bowl will always be played on Jan 1st
not sure what they'll end up doing with the Rose Bowl
The City of Pasadena is claiming that they are spending millions of tax payers dollar to upgrade the Rose Bowl , with the agreement that UCLA would be still be playing there for the next 20 years
sounds like UCLA just wanted to go through private arbitration and just pay the city of Pasadena 80-90 millions to get out of their lease , but Pasadena is going to put up a little bit of fight
the stadium is recognized as a National Historic Landmark and a California Historic Civil Engineering landmark
like most football fields , it'll probably just sit empty most of the year , the thing is , with no regular football games there , I'm sure even the cost up keep would be pretty substantial
it is kind of the sad part , when a university doesn't have a on campus stadium , the Rose Bowl is like 22 miles away from UCLA
SoFi is only 12 miles away from UCLA , but it's still not the same
I know that UConn has tried to get into the Big 12 a couple of times now , , it wasn't the only reason they were denied , but it was one of the reasons because UConn football stadium isn't on their campus as well
