a few weeks ago , it was expected that the Big Ten schools were going to vote for this private equity deal
but at the last minute , USC and Michigan said , not so fast
so the Big Ten schools did do a conference call with each other , but no vote was taken
but now , Ross Dellenger over at Yahoo Sports is saying
[
sports.yahoo.com]
Big Ten schools may vote on the 21st on this private equity deal
with , or without UCS and Michigan
has anything changed , or will it change by the 21st ????
sounds like the 16 of the 18 Big Ten schools will vote yes
so what does that mean for USC and Michigan , they can either play nice and simple vote yes , if they still vote no , they will get a 3-6 month grace period to change their mind , if they want to share in the private equity deal , also this would mean the grant of rights would be extended from 2036 to 2046
USC and Michigan would have to agree to that as well , or be left out after 2036
anyways , not sure what will happen , just my guess , and thats all it is , at some point USC and Michigan will end up playing nice and agree to play along
again , I have no idea , just a guess
I'm not sure if I'm for or against the deal , just simply don't have any information to decide either way
I'm just guessing this is the future of college sports ,all conference will be doing something simular in the future
