I'm with ya, Steve.... and a bonus surprise dessert I forgot about

Pudding is ambrosia. And I mean EVERY SINGLE KIND of pudding. Well... all that I've tasted anyway.

Pretty sure I posted about this a long time back. My Dad, Mom, Wife and I were in Reno at a Fats Domino concert..... dinner theater... our table was right up against the stage. Fats was incredible, by the way, one of my favorite concerts of all time. Anyway.....

You didn't really order.... or rather you did but only two choices. It was excellent and after dinner they brought dessert. Now this was when I was mid-20's I'm guessing. Dessert was: Vanilla Ice Cream (but like home made, extremely creamy and beyond delicious), with.... Cognac poured over the top!

I had never heard of a such a thing... I don't think my Dad and Mom had heard of it either. HARD LIQUOR on top of ice cream? The very idea was disgusting to me. I would have passed it up BUT.... I am more curious than a cat... I HAD to know. My Dad, Mom, and Wife watched as i dared a spoonful... they were FAR too scared to try it.

It was like a choir of angels started singing! It was THAT phenomenally good. I didn't think of it when I posted this and made my list but it may be my #1 choice. Obviously I can't know for sure but I would guess that if any of you tried it, (if you haven't already), you'll like it. VERY different than you'd expect.

Ok... so another. This one my daughter got in San Francisco.... fell in love with it... bought the ingredients and came home and made it so we could try it. Again, an angel choir started singing. It is ice cream, (we used chocolate but any flavor will do), with Bergamot Olive Oil on top... just a little. Bergamot has been discontinued, by the way. And probably because... in my entire family ONLY my daughter and I loved it. Everyone else either didn't care for it OR hated it. So I guess it wasn't a hit with the public.... BUT.... truly one of the best desserts I've ever had. - JamesJM
