In So Cal Catholic schools recruit from the inner city schools and target the best of the best of the AA players. They are part of the CIF and therefore don't have to follow the rules of residency. As I've written before these kids are more like free agents. Before the rise of parochial schools here the inner city of Los Angeles dominated all sports with their African American students and athletes. I went to one of those schools that have produced more NFL players than any H.S. in the country. But then that was in the 1950s when they produced players like Jon Arnett and Hugh Mclehanney (sp?) of USC and the Niners.
