Checking to see if my wife and youngest grandson had made it to an away youth football game.... I wanted the score. I accidentally click on my second oldest grandson AND WHAT THE HELL?
He's in Haigh-Ashbury, SF. And I mean ON THE INTERSECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I spent most of my college days there...... and so I couldn't help but thinking, "I hope to hell he's not up to what I was up to when I was there". BUT.... I suspect he just may be.
I revisited Haight-Ashbury not all that many years ago...... with an ex-Board member. Anyone remember SanFRAM? We walked around a bit... I think it was my first revisit since maybe 1969. It had changed, dramatically.... much much cleaner BUT..... no where near the 'personality'. Didn't run into any old friends from those days.... I think they all work for Google now.

I also wondered if there were any "real" and "diehard" Hippies still living there today? I can picture it in my head..... a near 80yr old long haired hippie guy/gal in a 2nd floor bare-boned apartment toking on a bong and professing, "It'll come back. Just watch and see. Hippies will rise again".
