I've always been an avid reader as well. and I have tried some audio books... even finished listening to a few audio books.... BUT....
There's just something about holding a physical book. Turning the pages. I will always choose a physical book over an audio book. Short story audio books are fine.... but a long novel not so much for me. But that's not what you're asking....
Some of the artists who read are excellent, others not so much. Think I wrote on this board some years back about returning from down on the Mexico border and driving all night to do it... and along the way I listened to "Mrs. Todd's Shortcut".... a Stephen King short story read by the actor David Purdham.... it was fantastic. Mesmerizing. I still listen to it often.
Most of my friends who are readers have made the switch to audio and love it.... they'll never go back. So my 'guess' is that you'll like them. You can't go by me.
