no one produces a TV show that features those stars from yesteryear that are still with us. Sure... the audience wouldn't be HUGE... but I think every bit as significant as the intended audience for MOST of the shows produced these days.
Watching those old 20's, 30's, 40's movies the last few months I was very surprised by how many of the actors died not that long ago. Well into the 2000's.... and ALL died in obscurity, no recognition. Who wouldn't love to see those aging stars with clips from those early films? Give them the spotlight.... one last time!
I love seeing "current' famous directors interviewed about 'movie making' because when I do I know I'm not alone. Directors like Tarantino, Coppola, are ardent lovers of old movies. They love their craft and all those who made it what it is today. It's amazing to hear Coppola rave about a movie like "Stagecoach" directed by Ford.
Saw a Tarantino interview once in which those old "B" Sci Fi flicks came up... he loved them.. AND.... he LEARNED from them! I've seen Coppola do the same... and many other directors. Wish there were more documentaries like that. - JamesJM
