Re: When is the last time you read a newspaper?

It's been about that long for me, too.

When I moved from Wichita to St Louis in 1993, it was hard to go from reading the daily Wichita Eagle-Beacon to the St Louis Post-Dispatch. I spent much of my life in Wichita so it was nice to be able to read their local news and know certain areas of the city, certain family names, events, etc. I used to love reading the Sunday paper and would spend several hours poring over it every week. Then I moved to St Louis and their local news was totally foreign to me. Even after living here for 30 years, it still is. Reading the local paper became less interesting because I couldn't really connect to anything I was reading about. I tried subscribing to the Wichita paper for about a year but the newspaper delivery left a lot to be desired. Because it was coming from another city, it was never current. I'd get the newspaper about 4 days after it was published and it just wasn't the same so I stopped doing that and just gave up trying to keep with news from home. Now I've been gone from Wichita for so long that what's happening there has become foreign to me. Funny how that happens.

I don't subscribe to any newspaper but if they're free, I read various articles that interest me in newspapers from all across the U.S. It's not the same as turning those pages and seeing full newspaper ads (do they still do newspaper comics anymore?). I kinda miss those days.
