Love to know if you remember this - every night as people gathered in various places on the Yosemite Valley Floor waiting for the Firefall to begin you would hear people start to call out - "ELMER".

I have met people today who remember that. I never did hear the origin of yelling "Elmer".... I think every campsite had their own version of the tradition. My family believed it came from the early 1900's when a mother roamed the valley one night searching for her lost son - "Elmer".
