in the old day , players had no say

who ever they got drafted by , owned their rights, you either had to get cut or traded , and then you had no say in where you got traded

actors where the same way , they would sign with a network , and they basically only did shows on that network , or movie studio

you pretty much had to do what the network told you to do

if ABC told you , you were going to do a guest spot on the Love Boat , well then , you had to do a guest spot on the Love Boat
