Coyote mascot update..

So, the organization I'm with raised $30K to pay for an election for the public to vote for the two new mascots.. in our proposal we stated the three local current high school mascots, as well as the two mascots that they chose for the new high schools.. Wouldn't have cost the city a DIME to put this to bed.. if we lost the election, then at least we did everything we could..

But the school board shot it down on a unanimous vote - which included two board members (including the president) who wanted to keep the Coyotes.. they went into closed door deliberations for almost FIVE hours over the subject. then walked out and stated they had no power to hold an election.. Cop out..

So, we're trying to get legal representation to find a legal avenue.. We did uncover a LOT of issues with the original bond that passed to cause this mess and the bond should NEVER have been certified, as it was completely misrepresented to the public..

..and get this: This year, in the Fall, will be the LAST time the Coyotes play the Raiders in what has been one of the biggest rivalries in Texas football history, as both high schools are losing their mascots.. So, TONS of alumni from both schools are gonna drive and fly in for the final game..

But wait....

The school district schedule the game at the beginning of the football season, instead of the final game of the season as its always been played.. Why would they do that? Because the same exact weekend is our world famous Hotter Than Hell Hundred bike ride where people come in from all over the world to compete.. Generally we have over 10K people ride in this event.. The date for HHH was known at least for a year.. All th ehotels are already full for that weekend for the race.. All the Air BNBs are booked.. So, NOBODY from out of town will be able to go to the football game because there is nowhere for them to stay..

We tried to get the game moved to another weekend or night, but they refused.. Flat out refused.. So the last Coyote/Raider rivalry game will be half full, instead of overflowing, unless people decide to drive back home that night... Now tell me they didn't do that on purpose..
