Very few RB's thrive with poor blocking. Very few, if any, QB's thrive regardless of protection. All of the Rams skill players were reduced to bums. For some the Rams' don't have a QB, receivers, TE's or RB's and they think the defense stinks. A rebuild is in order.
In my opinion, if the Rams can fix the OL and improve their depth (and be at least marginally lucky with injuries) then they already have a good QB, good receivers and a good RB... the defense stays on the field way too long and is missing an elite game changer.
I would like the Rams to get:
A real back up QB
A true starter quality LT
Improved depth on the OL
An impact edge rusher
That is not a rebuild and they don't need to hit on the edge rusher but it would probably help put the defense in the elite category.
I don't know who the Rams will lose... a safety, DT, and perhaps some depth... But just fixing the OL and getting players back healthy will make McVay smart again... and hopefully stop the BS being spouted from talking heads and fans.
