Perkins showed me these things:
He was poised; the moment wasn't too big for him, against the league's best and behind a thrown-together line and next to zero time with his assembled mashup of players. He made some bad plays (to be expected) but kept coming back.
Played better than his stat line indicated. As the game progressed, he adjusted, manned up, and got better.
Seems to have enough arm, but could use more zip on most of his passes. Go ahead and throw it - these guys you're throwing to are pros. Especially on anything going toward a sideline. These pro corners, once they've seen some film, will jump those routes instead of playing safe and pick-6 those passes unless you get them there with more authority.
Running ability - for a qb it's there. Game speed isn't blazing fast, but more than 4.79 40 time indicates.
Hard to tell if he was taking off too early, going through more than one read with the pressure in his face, or taking advantage of what was there with quick decision making, or running on designed plays. Got rattled by pressure a couple of times but then settled back down. And that trait tells.
He's a keeper and has upside. I didn't know about his horrid neck injury until they showed the short describing it. That explains a lot. He's overcome some real adversity. That takes character going in, and can develop character going through it and coming out the other side. He has it.
