Ya, the injuries were one thing. But this team came out soft and folded like a taco. It's why, no matter the stats, people are upset with this style of defense. It makes a soft team look softer. Our offensive line, the first game when they were all healthy, got absolutely man handled. Our much heralded rookie looked overwhelmed. We're just pillow-soft, and have been since the opener.
I've questioned the personnel decisions for a long time, but McVay was able to sew it all together. Now that it's collapsed, it does feel cheap and easy to stand back and point fingers. I'm not always a big fan (or hater) of Les Snead, but we gotta stop with this four-pillars drafting and get some hard players. Yet, I've also come to the realization that they like different types of players than I do and no amount of my tantrums are going to change that. It bums me.
I do trust McVay to fix it. Very interested to see how he attacks it. I'll be along for every second of the ride.
