From what I understand the Wolf did complete almost two thirds of his passes and was under a lot of pressure all game long. He also hasn't gotten any real game action in a great while. Stafford took like all the snaps last season. It could be he is isn't as horrible as many think and is shaking off the rust. The pass that got Kupp hurt was horrendous, but he made a really nice play for the TD at the end of the game. I'm not saying he is the next Steve Young or Kurt Warner waiting in the wings, but let's see what he can do this week. One thing I notice is that the opposing defenses rarely look surprised by our plays. Even the Perkins snaps fooled nobody. Is it that McVay is just running the same old same old every down and the DCs
Have seen it all on tape? Is this an indictment of Coen or McVay or a combo? It's really impossible to run an offense without any OL.
And ours has been a huge mess. Of course it's easy to blame the QB who touches the ball in every play, but Stafford is a terrific QB and he was having trouble putting up points with this bunch up front. Blaming a rusty Wolf and a non-playing Tutu for the lousy offense makes no sense. And for those who prefer Perkins over the Wolf we saw them compete, sort of, in fake preseason games against back ups. These guys get tons of throws in real practices against our starting D. If the Wolf is #2 he is probably consistently better.
