This is the least talented OL Alabama has had since probably Sabin's first year. Some Bama fan or fans correct me if I'm wrong please. So what he is doing is a little more impressive than some backs of the past.
He is patient, stupid balance and feet, and his zero to 60 is insane. Great pass catcher. On top of that, I never really see him take big shots head on. He knows he isn't lowering the boom at the end of a run, so he steps out of bounds or gets down. Plus, he is so slippery in space, guys are just hoping to get hands on him, not looking for the knockout blow.
My issues, he struggles between the tackles, so you need a complimentary back (not named K. Williams at 210 lbs., although, as I have said forever, he runs tough for a smaller back) and his pass protection is lacking. That said, he is dynamic from the slot, so bring in a 2nd blocking back and put him out at receiver.
BTW, he was doing all the same things at GT that he is doing this year at Alabama. 1800 all purpose yards last year for the Yellow Jackets. He was a RB, he played from the slot, I came away very impressed.
