<snipped>

- Solidify the OL how, I'm genuinely curious on how'd you'd do it
- Hire (or listen to) an OC that can meld a rushing attack with McVay's offense McVay can run the ball, in 2017 they were 8th in team rushing yards, 2018 they were 3rd, 2019 they were 26th, 2020 they were 10th, 2021 they were 25th. So 3 of the 5 years they have been top 3 in team rushing yards. But I agree and I would recommend Thomas Brown, elevate him now, before he gets sniped, and block him from interviewing if McVay is nearing the end of his run.
- Allow said OC to call the plays Agree
- Get an effective RB extremely agree

These are things that should allow the Rams to get back into contention sooner than relying upon the crapshot of the draft. If you cannot fix the OL, all rest doesn't matter. At all, not one bit.

Before I discuss how I'd go about fixing the O-line, let me just say this about McVay's ability to run the ball. Two of those three years where we demonstrated the ability to run the ball, Todd Gurley was our RB. And even then, we had trouble establishing a rushing attack in the playoffs.

But to the real issue at hand...

I don't know how the salary cap works so this is just me spit-balling here.

The breaking news that Alaric Jackson is out for the season is disconcerting. There's NO WAY I'd consider penciling him as a starter at LT for 2023 without a firm understanding on how he plays week in and week out against 1st team defenses. As for Noteboom...I think that he's demonstrated that he can be a good LT. But I'm not so sure now given his achilles injury.

So, with that said, I think that the Rams should try to pursue a true anchor at LT in the same way they got Whitworth in 2017. My first instinct would be to try to send a package of picks (say 2023 2nd and 2024 1st and 3rd) to Houston for Laremy Tunsil who we'd also need to pay.

Thereafter, I'd be looking to draft either the best RB or IOL with my 2023 3rd round pick. If it's a guard, then our 2023 OL looks like:

LT - Tunsil
LG - 3rd round rookie
C - Shelton
RG - Bruss
RT - Havs

For RB, I'd likely be looking at a 2nd-tier FA like Melvin Gordon.

The injury/illness situation at LT really complicates matters for me. And I'm not convinced of our ability to draft players that will be available.
