We'll, I'd disagree.
Staley ran the defense that McVay hated facing. McVay got the coach he wanted, but we were even told that he'd shift to the scheme that made us a #1 unit. What we're seeing now is this defense and it's personnel shifting to what Morris is. I haven't seen anything saying McVay wanted to take this defense in the direction it's gone. Morris isn't here because of his coaching genius, he's here because he's guy Coach wanted for the position. I think it's more a meshing of personality with the uptick that if McVay could boost him to a head coaching gig, it would work out ideal for everyone. Not quite trending in that direction, but that's my view from the cheap seats.
