Why even waste thread time with the 8th ranked defense when your offense is in the 30's. It seems like beating a dead horse. Could it be better? Yes. Is it everyone's cup of tea? Nope but while listening to the 11 personnel podcast this week, Jourdan, who we will all agree knows a lot on the subject, pointed out that while the Bucs were being held in check with the soft zone coverage. When the Rams decided to press the Bucs immediately attacked the opportunity and that the Rams play so far off because it is dictated by personnel. IOW they aren't good enough to play any closer. Was that final drive abhorrent? Sure but the issue is the first 59 minutes of gametime on offense than the last minute on defense. As much as people decry the soft defense, Brady is the best that has ever done it and until that last drive he was totally held in check so the defense is NOT the issue. Yet the fire Raheem, soft coverage threads outnumber the what the heck is wrong with our offense ones at a 5 to 1 clip. Why is that? We are averaging giving up what 18 points a game subtracting the ones given up when they aren't on the field. The best defense in the league is giving up 14.8. So I ask again why so many defensive threads?
For the umpteenth time, I stipulate that Rams O is far and away their biggest problem.
But when a thread is D oriented, especially about Morris, I have to reply on thread topic.
Again, and for the umpteenth time again, Morris has statistically done a good job this season, particularly with the injuries in the secondary considered. BUT, there are areas where he could and should do much better..
