He's a dumb-a%$. He is talentless and was supported by great players and now he's been exposed. He's stubborn and clueless. He's some wimpy millennial 'boy genius' who doesn't understand knocking team's junk in the dirt. The last one is my favorite. Like some kind of reverse age-ism, as if an aged, grizzled coach who's been around is always superior to one who's young and bright.
I just don't get it. I think it's these posters that are soft. I've been a Rams fan since the 70's. And to be a Ram fan is hard. We've been through a decade of failure. A few highs and a lot of lows. I still remember going to sports bars with friends in the 90's and having to watch the game on a small preview monitor by the wait station cause who would want to see Rams v Bengals in 1995?
The game yesterday was awful. This team is really hard to watch. The offense is broken. The O-line is a dumpster fire and Stafford is a shell of himself. But McVay is the best coach this team has had in the last 20 years. And it's not even close. This year is probably a bust. So one bad season after a superbowl and you want to fire the coach and gm and do what - hire another of the endless parade of coaches who drift through the league year in and year out? No thanks. I'll stick with the guys who forced this team back onto the NFL map - made us relevant. 10 years ago, would the media be talking about how shocked they were that the Rams are stinking it up? No! it would have been more of the wink and shrug and just 'the rams being the rams'.
So put on your big boy rams sweatpants and root for your team to pull out of this, or stop watching and wait for next year. There's no help coming. This is our team. Deal with it.
