McVay will need to be convinced that he has to change things due to the injuries and poor execution of the offensive line.
He said the other day that their were a few "mental' mistakes that caused the sacks. That however does not explain the lack of holes for the RB to run through. While Akers and Henderson may not be all pro caliber they are both pretty decent when healthy and they can blow through a hole if it is there.
This Offensive Line has been decimated by injuries and McVay/Coen need to reach into their playbook to design a game plan that slows down the rush for a start. Right now defenses are playing the Rams tight because they know the don't have time for longer developing plays. This makes it hard to succeed in the running & short passing games.
I think the Line has to play better period regardless of injuries. And Rams have to loosen that defense up and slow down the rush. Going deep and using misdirection, lots of it, will slow the rush and force defensives to play off the line of scrimmage. I don't see how that happens without some fast improvement.
Cowboys know how to bring the pressure so this will be a huge challenge.
