Josh Allen and the Bills will kill in Man coverage. He has like one of the highest passer ratings against blitz/man. Unless you have a bunch of lock down secondary, the theory is that you will need to mix zone coverages and hope that he reads it wrong. Cover 2, Cover 3 and Cover 6 are more suitable with probably Cover 6 more ideal. But that coverage is tough to get it right and you could be "out-formationed" unless you have a very alert defensive captain flipping the Cover 2 and Cover 4 sides at snap.
If you are to flip Cover 6 with the Seahawks version of Cover 3, you could potentially get him to read it wrong.. as they can look similar, but takeaway different things.
Defense needs to be flexible.. some QBs are good at particular coverages, some are not. Need to know your opponent and game plan for them. Can't run the same defense over and over again.. at the same time, you can't run certain defenses if you don't have the right personnel. OTW, you get something that looks like the Seahawks defense. A bunch of rookies making assignment errors all over the place, letting Detroit score almost 50 points. Rookies learning mix zone coverages = mistakes.
