Nice idea for an article with some strong stats to support the idea that Higbee is valuable for the Rams. And then there was this...
"Given that Hopkins does not appear to be the heir apparent fourth round tight end that L.A. expected him to become, Higbee once again seems like the succession plan for Higbee."
He/we don't know this. Hopkins is suspended right now. He could come back and finish strong. Last year he was instrumental in the Rams winning the SB. He caught big passes down the stretch. He looked like a star. And who the heck knows about Harris? He has been shifted back and forth between WR and TE between injuries and strong ST efforts. He was also a fourth round TE who could ultimately replace Higbee. But, why replace Higbee? He is our star TE. Great! But, why do we need to replace him? Re-sign him and add.
It is actually an important position for our offense. With 3 WRs on most plays and RBs who can catch the TEs are usually open. Anyway, mostly good read. Thanks for sharing.
