Yes... with the offensive rules... against good QBs:
Holding them to
a FG is a win
a Stop is a big win
a 3 and out Stop is a big big win
League wants to see scoring. They don't want 11-10 Denver/49er games.
Defense will be handcuffed until then.
Yards/TOP doesn't matter as much. Need a high scoring offense.. fast or slow, doesn't matter. Capable of getting touchdowns.. which is why RedZone efficiency on both ends is a benchmark to key in on.
Defense can bend, as long as they hold to 3. But offense needs to score touchdowns.
Defense is helped by Offense if they score. Get a big enough lead and defense is simplified as they just need to worry about the pass. That's how great defenses can perform well. Not on their own greatness, but depends on the offense performance as well.
I'm more worried about the offense scoring 20 points (should be 27) on a not so good Arizona Defense. Offense should be over 30 points a game given the weapons there. That would only help the defense.
