the defensive game plan was pretty clear.
Arizona was going to get yards.
It was a matter of:
Would Murray be patient enough to throw underneath
Would Rams defense breakdown and let receivers go past them when Murray is out of the pocket
It can be frustrating to watch, as everyone wants 3 and outs... but it was effective.
Murray did take the underneath routes
And Rams in general, didn't breakdown too much on junk plays.
I remember one play when Murray was scrambling to his right, I thought he was going to throw the other side as I would expect the Rams DB to lose sight.
But nope, they still had both receivers covered, so they remained disciplined.
Just needed Akers to hold onto that ball on the 1 yard line and then people would see better as to why the game plan was such.
