I have found that posters that support the narrative that Tutu is a wasted draft pick, can't comprehend logical points. Some are too busy with their childish bashing of a Rams player. I think its also eating away at them that Tutu is still on the team with the only explanation is that McVay is too embarrassed to cut him.
Then I guess a lot of others feel the same about Tutu. Do you read any other boards? Here is a cut and paste from The Rams Reddit. I didn't only choose the good comments, I included them all. I guess these people don't know what they are talking about either?

Where was Tutu Atwell yesterday?
7 snaps on week 1. I don’t think he had any yesterday?
What happened to all that training camp hype? Without Van Jefferson and OBJ I really thought we’d be seeing him a lot more…

He’s a bust. It was a bad pick at the time and somehow it ended up even worse. It’s fine, it happens. Wish him the best of luck

Powell has taken over his role because I think the staff has lost any faith in Tutu. Bad picks happen but this one was annoying because everyone knew at the time that this was a stupid pick. Gadget players should be late round picks (like Harris) where if it doesn't pan out then oh well nothing much lost anyways.

Yeah, I definitely get annoyed with how defensive people get over this. We’re allowed to criticize the team’s decisions even though they won a Super Bowl.
Everyone and their mom was upset with the pick and I saw quite a few guys in here that were specifically wanting Humphrey. I know I’ve been calling for OL draft picks for a while.
I don’t think it’s out of line to point out we were right.

Not at all, it’s out of line to want them fired over this pick cause let’s be real we just won the title. It’s just something I want them to learn from and not waste premium draft capital on useless gadget players.

Powell is explosive, while watching training camp in Irvine he was the one that looked fast and dangerous and Wolford/Perkins threw to him much more often than Tutu.
I thought there was a chance the team was hiding Tutu's role because those training camps are open to the public, but so far it looks more like they were just talking him up.

Yeah he has better hands and seems to really fit what we need him to do in the slot. I think he’s found a solid role for himself. I’ll be curious to see if Van is still the deep ball guy when he comes back.

I'm just tired of hearing about him all offseason and fans being arrogant, then disappearing when it matters. Nelson Spruce was a better story than that guy. @#$%& Creed....

The reality is we spent a 2nd rounder on a guy we wanted to return kicks/punts and run gadget plays. Brandon Powell has taken his job for both. It is what it is. It's time to stop expecting anything from Tutu and just be pleasantly surprised if he makes a couple plays for us until his rookie contract runs out.

He’s not playing out his whole rookie deal. He’s getting traded or cut

I saw him on the field once or twice. I bet we didn’t see much of him yesterday because our offensive scheme was completely different than what we’re used to. I also think it’s more important to get A Rob churning on our offense than Tutu right now.

Tutu is just too goddamn little. He's the size of a high school girl (not kidding), and he doesn't have an elite skill set to overcome such a huge size disadvantage.

He did muff the recovery on the Kupp fumble late in the game. That was the only ‘flash’ I saw the entire game.

He can’t play fullback, which is where we need our 3rd wideout lined up.

Skowronek should just pick up Tutu and swing him around to create lanes for our RBs

I think McVay really thought that with Stafford back there we'd be bombs away, but every defensive unit sits in these shells and limits that explosive stuff. It's why they got and then didn't use DJax often, and Tutu is the same way. You can't have those guys on the field all the time because so much of the scheme requires precision and blocking from the WRs.
It wasn't a good pick, but I'd really love to hear them discuss the rationale. Maybe it'll be in a book one day.

Good point. With the O line a bit battered up, the plays are being set up so the ball is moved quickly out of Staffords hands. Can't have him sacked 7 times a game. The bombs won't come that often with many back up linemen. Smart coaching I'd say

I can see how the comparison could be made but honestly he isn’t even that. Tavon was highly involved in the offense and returned kicks. He was mostly bad but very occasionally made a big play. They aren’t even playing Tutu at all, even for gadget stuff. I don’t get why we don’t trade or even straight cut him at this point. Waste of a roster spot.

They whiffed on that pick. The guy is 5’9 165 lbs, he’s not the typical NFL athlete so it may be difficult for him to get on the field even if he’s talented.

Hey man I’m 5’9 155. I could totally be an NFL player. No problem! (I kid of course. I train jiu-jitsu, and it is @#$%& unreal what a big guy can do to me. One of my training partners weighs 310, so basically AD-size. I can tell you from experience Tutu would not have a good time being hit by someone like that)
