That is true... and what you hope for is:
1) you don't get shot many times (Games)
2) you don't get shot during important games like playoffs and super bowl
No defense is going to be perfect for every game.
Sometimes, the game plan doesn't work.. or the players don't execute.
How do you defend Josh Allen? You go man, you get burnt. Worse, you blitz the heck out of him and go Cover-O and he's the best at that.
You go zone with quarters and guess what, he's the best at that too.
People are discounting that QBs can be very good as well and can beat the crap out of the defense.. especially if they are feeling it.
And then people also discount the impact your own offense as on the defense. If Rams offense scored at will, this changes the game plan for the Bills. Makes defending alot easier.
Thank goodness this wasn't the superbowl. This is game #1 against a very good team. Players and Coaches will learn from this and adjust.
Otherwise, if you think things are stagnant, then you would have taken the first loss to Kyler Murray/Arizona last year and say that the Rams are doomed against Arizona. You know what really happened instead.
