McCutcheon was an undrafted FA so as you would suspect he has some flaws in his game or he would have been drafted.
We know he can catch the ball and catch it with guys draped all over him. Those are great traits for a WR to have. He also seems to have enough speed for the position and from what I have read he is a very dedicated student in the WR room actually sitting right behind Kupp.
Not getting open is fixable with experience. We also have a coach that schemes with the best and finds a way to get people open. I would expect that getting open will not be an issue especially when/if he is the 4th WR and is out there with Kupp & Robinson drawing most of the attention.
He still needs to be an asset on special teams. Skow and Harris, his main competition, are very good at special teams. He also needs to show that he can run block which we know Skow brings to the table. So far the main thing you look for in a WR is can he catch the ball and do something good once he catches it. McCutcheon seems to have the early lead in demonstrating those skills.
