Long ago, it used to be interesting to watch preseason games in order to see how new pieces might come together with existing pieces. However, I never attended a Rams preseason game even when they were worth watching because I never lived in an area where they had a game. It just wouldn't have been worth it to spend money to travel a long distance for any preseason game. If I had been living in LA at the time, it would have been interesting to attend some of the preseason games in 1983, when Eric Dickerson and John Robinson joined the Rams. While living in Tampa in the late 1970s, I attended some of the Bucs preseason games and really enjoyed them (despite the oppressive heat and humidity down there in August). In 1971, I attended a preseason game between the Jets and Lions in which Joe Namath tore up his knee.
