why?
Because a fair (win/win) salary number can't really be determined at this point in time as their are too many unknown variables in mostly in terms of availability but also in projecting his return at or near 100%. By the end of August OBJ & the Rams will have a much better idea on when OBJ can return and then you can calculate a reasonable salary. Right now the $7Mil is not connected to the reality of the number of games OBJ will be available to play so why focus on that as the right or wrong number? What if he couldn't come back at all this season? That would surely be a waste of valuable salary cap money.
I do agree if we are going to sign him that it would be nice if it was done before the final rosters so that he could go on the PUP list and be part of the team. But I am not sure even at that point if the Rams and OBJ will feel comfortable projecting his availability for the season.
The one thing I am pretty sure of his that he will want to be paid in dollars and not bitcoin during the crypto winter that we are in.
