so much so that I can't say for SURE but do believe that the following only pertains to me:
Like everyone else his size worried/worries me BUT... I didn't come close to thinking it was a guaranteed sign of failure, like most.
I trust the Ram's FO... which doesn't make them right but does dictate I give that credence.
Rookie years... don't necessarily dictate careers... and here I may differ than the 'perception' some think the Rams themselves are espousing today.... I don't think Tutu utterly failed last year... some lack of 'what it takes' work-wise, to be sure. Mostly he wasn't needed as a WR... his time was hopefully to 'come'.. it wasn't last year. IOW.. it was FAR from a typical rookie year.
And the most controversial opinion I hold: I didn't come CLOSE to seeing the 'failure' when he played last year that I think everyone else on this board saw as written in stone? I saw a rookie... making mistakes... not ready... but with extraordinary talent that "MAY", or "MAY NOT", make him a football player.
Where I stand today... Tutu I don't think will ever become a Kupp, or an OBJ. I don't rule it out but I think it very unlikely. It takes 22 players to win the SB... and no team in history has fielded 22 elites. I HATE the word 'niche'... but Tutu may come to be exactly what we needed 'at the right time'. - JamesJM
