Since when did Brees have a canon for an arm?

Brees was never a strong armed QB. His velocity was average.
His deal was always uncanny accuracy and anticipation.

As for last year: I can't really speak to it except to say that N.O. was down it's best Receivers. The game is throw and catch; not just throw.
