I’ve got a hunch that Perkins seizes the backup position and Wolford gets traded/released.

I just hope we get to actually see the "battle" 43! I would not be surprised if McVay didn't play The Wolf during the preseason and just gave him the job...again. However I was surprised McVay kept Perkins instead of releasing him last year so he must have seen "something" in him.

Wolf vs Perkins in the preseason would make the otherwise boring games and little more fun to watch!
